Jackson Augusto

Programmatic Coordinator

Jackson holds degrees in Journalism and Theology and brings over a decade of experience in movement building. His career is grounded in social organizing and communication as a driver of change, with a focus on racial justice and on the role of religion in understanding contemporary Brazil and its political dynamics. Before joining ICCI, Jackson led strategic projects at organizations such as PerifaConnection, Instituto Vladimir Herzog, and Amnesty International Brazil. He also co-founded Instituto Commbne, dedicated to anti-racist communication, and was one of the creators of the Martin Luther King Program for Political Education and Movement Building, an initiative of the Movimento Negro Evangélico do Brasil that connects faith and racial justice. He has written for The Intercept, Brasil de Fato, and Folha de S.Paulo.
