Américo Sampaio

Américo studied Social Work at PUC-SP and earned a degree in Sociology and Politics from FESP-SP. He holds an MBA in Economics and Government Relations from FGV-SP, a specialization in Social Project Development from FESP-SP, and completed the executive education program Leadership, Organizing and Action at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a specialist in communications and advocacy for public policies, as well as engagement campaigns for socio-environmental causes, with expertise in stakeholder engagement and social listening techniques. With nearly 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, he joins ICCI after holding leadership positions at organizations such as CIEDS, the São Paulo School of Government, Comunitas, the Sustainable Cities Institute, Purpose Brasil, and the Climate and Society Institute (iCS), where he helped shape the fields of communication and engagement in Brazil. He was also co-founder and a member of the leadership team at Estratégia Brasil, a political marketing consultancy. Throughout his career, Américo has been involved in numerous campaigns, networks, and coalitions focused on participation and engagement in the areas of climate, democracy, and human rights. He has also served as a political columnist for CBN Radio and a magazine.
